Lincoln Tool & Design Company History

1990
Opened the doors for business as a one-man operation primarily serving customers as a mold builder.
1991
Hired Kelly, the first LTD employee who is still with LTD and has had many roles including Toolmaker, Estimator, Department Manager and is currently our Sr. Tooling Advisor.
1990s
Invested in additional machines to add to our capabilities and meet the evolving demand of our customers.
1993
Moved to a larger facility which allowed us to add our first CNC mill and a Charmilles Wire EDM.
1994
Entered the molding market by adding our first injection molding press. The 150-ton TOYO molding press addition helped us to meet the demands of our customers.
1994
Continued company growth allowed us to add a new tool maker who ended up becoming our primary Mold Designer. Trent is still with LTD and leads our Molding department.
1997
Business growth allowed us to build and move into our current facility.
2002
Expanded our current facility, continued to add more toolroom equipment, molding equipment and staff.
2008
Expanded current facility again. Added additional technical staff and more equipment including our second Wire EDM and a CNC plunge EDM.
2014
Added a front-office to our facility which freed up some space in the shop allowing us to have a dedicated metal fabrication area.
2015 - 2020
Added additional CNC equipment and molding presses. New staffing gave us more expertise in molding as well as automated systems and engineering design. This growth allowed us to fulfill our customer’s engineering needs by allowing us to design, develop and deliver both fabricated and automated products and services.
2020
Lincoln Tool & Design changes ownership. A relationship that started with LTD solving problems for a customer lead that customer and its ownership group to acquire the company. A General Manager is added and 2 departments are created and are led by seasoned LTD veterans. Kelly (hired in 1991) leads the Tooling department and Trent (hired in 1994) leads the Molding department. Today LTD continues a legacy of serving its customers at a high level, attracting and retaining top talent as well as driving for high quality growth.
2020 - 2023
Continued growth in customer demands means LTD adds more team members and invests in equipment. Today, among other support equipment such as grinders, welders and manual machines, LTD has 3 CNC lathes, 3 high-end CNC mills, 6 HAAS machining centers, 2 wire EDMs, 1 plunge EDM, a production robot, and 14 Toyo injection molding presses. LTD earned ISO 9001 certification and established our company code to articulate the key characteristics that are vital to a healthy organization.
